The Earth4Energy eBook has become the latest internet hit. It gives detailed instructions that allow ordinary everyday people the chance to build their own solar panel and wind power systems. If you're on this page you've probably heard about it before, but is the book really like? Is it a scam, or is it a worthwhile investment?

I've personally reviewed the Earth4Energy guidebook. Sitting at 73 pages of worthwhile content I can conclude that the book is definitely not a scam. It is absolutely a worthwhile investment for anyone wanting to know how to generate their own electricity at home. Let me tell you why.

Firstly, this book is the complete guide. Not only does it show you how to build your own wind turbine and setup your own solar panel system cost effectively. It also gives you instructions on how to reduce your energy costs in other ways. 

As for the instructions - they are exceptionally detailed with many photographs and easily understandable directions on how to get your system setup and operating.

If you are wanting to power your home on a renewable energy source then in most cases wind power will be the cheapest option to setup.

Of course, the most important proviso here is that you have a consisent flow of wind across your site! If you don't, read below to learn more about solar power. 

So you've got a consistent flow of wind? Excellent. Wind power is a remarkably easy electricity generation source, as witnessed by the number of large power companies now using it to generate their electricity.

With the Earth4Energy guide, setting up your system can be broken down into the following steps :

1. Site selection

2. Buying the necessary pieces (Earth 4 Energy  tells you exactly what you need)

3. Constructing the propeller / generator / tower.

4. Erecting the tower.

5. Wiring it up to your home.

Easy! Now to be clear, the last step has several options, you can use the electricity to power items in your garage, you can use it to power items in your home, or you can even wire it up to your mains supply so that your electricity bills are reduced as your house begins to run on your own electricty. For those of us who don't live in windy locations we can all take heart in that fact that almost everywhere on the planet gets enough sunshine to generate electricity. A popular misconception is that solar power won't work on a cloudy day, but in just the same way that it's possible to get sunburnt on a cloudy day, it's possible to generate solar electricity.

So what are the steps to setup your own solar energy system as described by Earth4Energy.

1. Obtain low-cost solar cells. These are the cells that when put together make up a panel. There are many avenues to find these low-cost cells.

2. Add them to a panel of some description.

3. Wire up all the cells and the panel.

4. Place the panel onto a sunny location - one that is unlikely to be affect by leaf litter or other debris.

5. Wire up the system and start to enjoy the electricity.

As with wind power, step 5 presents several different options, including the opportunity to reduce your power bill by wiring it up to your mains (with the help of an electrician of course).
